Why it’s worth it to spend a little more money to make sure your goods are shipped safely and securely to your customers

With so many companies offering cheap and free shipping options to their customers, it can be tempting to cut corners to provide a similar service. After all, with so many companies shipping globally, it can be tempting to try to match what your competitors may be offering.

But, unless you can genuinely afford to provide your customers with those options while maintaining quick delivery times and high safety/ security standards of more expensive services, your customers are losing out. And so is your reputation.

WHY?

There is no point in offering a service if it is going to be sub-par. The global market we can live in means that every business has to be performing at its best at all times.

Your customers are buying your products because they want to have them. To them, you fill a need that they have. This could be anything from food to books to collector’s items. Whatever the reason, these people have purchased your product. And – quite understandably – they want it to arrive quickly and securely, in a way that is easy for them.

Every online shopper wants the thrill of unwrapping their present to themselves and seeing their purchase is in perfect condition and hasn’t been damaged by its transit. Most importantly, they are buying your product because they want it to arrive. By skimping out on shipping costs, you run the risk of compromised services – which could make you lose customers.

I know that personally, I’m a big fan of online shopping. But, if I have to wait more than 10 business days for a purchase to arrive, I generally won’t be buying with that company again (even if the shipping was free). If I’ve paid for shipping and something takes that long (unless it is coming in from another country) you had better believe I definitely won’t be buying from them again. If a product arrives damaged, again, I’ll think twice before ordering again.

As businesses, your priority should be on your paying customers, and providing them with the highest level of support – or else you will lose them. If these customers are having to wait extended periods before receiving their products or are receiving damaged goods, they will start to find the same or similar products elsewhere.

With the growing global economy, making sure your business practices are as efficient and effective as possible is the key to holding onto customers. Plus, with more and more goods being shipped across the country and the world, it’s more important than ever to ensure that you are providing the best service possible to keep winning over clients and keep existing coming back for more.

By putting a little more money into shipping your goods, you can ensure that your products are being shipped safely and securely – whether that be via packing crates, custom timber crates, industrial packing or a single padded envelope or shipping crate.
